Thanks Gav, and everyone else ,
The decision to go with Tru-oil over the Wudtone clear is simply experimentation. I may regret that decision, but at the moment it's coming along well.

Hey Simon love the idea of you being able to switch capacitors from 0.22uf to.47uf what a great idea.
You sound like you've got a great idea of what you want it to turn out like Good luck Simon . Your sons a luckyGuy, so does he out play you already lol.

I can't lay claim to the idea. It's called the Cocked Wah mod and it is used in the Fender Esquire which is, like the Jnr a one pickup guitar. I saw someone in the U.S made a Cocked Wah harness for the Jnr so I asked Shaun from Guitarsauce in Queensland if he could make me something similar and he made me the work of art in the picture.
On the subject of if Patrick can out play me, on guitar he certainly can because I can't play guitar (well not in the conventional way), I am a synth player/audio engineer/producer. I really like all sorts of guitars and making them for my son Patrick, and daughter Hannah is a great experience. After I complete the Jnr I plan on building a Telecaster Thinline for Hannah.
Here is a video of Patrick playing the Guitar track to Are U Mine by The Arctic Monkeys. Play enlarged and in HD, with the volume wound up!

Before any of you ask what I mean by "not in a conventional way". I lost all use of my right hand when I had a stroke in my childhood (48 years ago). When I am recording I will pick up a guitar and tap away on the fretboard for some effect. I would really like a Chapman Stick to play around with.
Cheers Simon

wow nice playing Patrick and the guitar sounds great.
Simon credit to you building a guitar with only the use of one hand, that must make it very difficult !
There's a guy on the forum 'Bass guy' Elliot plays the chapman stick, he hasn't been on the forum for a while though. He's very talented at the stick and a very good bass player

So . . . Chapman stick & Chapstick are different species? Please excuse my ignorance, but thanks to you & Wikipedia I stand enlightened. Actually, the whole idea has got me fascinated, although the plain versions don't have aesthetic appeal for me, some of them look tres cool (I can feel an idea or two coming on)
As for onehanded building & playing - that is remarkable and really inspiring.
