my guess it was posted to cover that fact that it was damaged, way easier to let someone come and get it versus the hassle of posting a guitar

Yeah not too hard to go for a drive and query the idiot over it face to face though, that shit makes me wild.

I doubt it would be worth the trouble, he would deny it and what proof have you other than he is a first class douche...

I'd have to pack the Irwin clamp up a bit, as the pre-amp hole is about 30mm deep.

I think if you could get one in there that you could glue it up well enough to at least stabilise the damaged area

I have two thoughts about the sale of this Guitar.
well maybe 3 if you consider he tried to learn guitar and failed.
The two I have in mind is this is a Hot Guitar, hence the lack of care in shipping,
Or he got kicked out of home and wasn't living in Geelong anymore and needed some money fast.
These epis are usually about $400 new so he got a good price for it had he not been a NOB and posted it.

i think a thin patch would suffice if you could get enough even pressure on it.

I think if you bulk it up too much, you may create a dead area in the sound board and lose tone...

If the crack goes all the way through then you really need to glue it and clamp across the guitar as well to close it

I would have bought it damaged or not. the total cost was $128 for the guitar, and $20 postage.
The damage while it is a pain is fixable. Getting my chubby little hands inside it is a strugle, they don't seem to articulate as well as they did years ago. I couldn't Imagine AJ trying to get his hands inside an acoustic, he's twice my size.
I will work through this and it will be a nice guitar to play with.
As it is I have already spent plenty of time over teh last few weeks sitting on the couch picking and strumming away.
It's only been today that I have had enough spare time to take a look inside. I've bought 3 Stewmac brace jacks, made a mirror, bought a light and camera, both of which are almost a fail as they are too small to get setup in the right place, and as soon as you stick you hand inside the guitar everything moves around.
Glueing backwards with a pipette is a bit of fun. hence I still dunno if I got enough glue in the split.
Next time I'll find a wedge to keep it open a bit further(things you find on Stemacs YouTube)

Stan, if you look closely at the first pic the crack is just inside the upper edge.
pretty much along the edge of the binding

i actually think if you could push the crack inside back together right then you wouldn't have to patch it at all

Dale Erwine from Stewmac has some good vids for sure
