    nice one Grant. Yes the forum is a massive help and there should be a big disclaimer on the website saying building guitars is addictive !

    scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
    Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup

    Thanks again Wokka. It is a real Bigsby. When I plugged up the holes, didn't allow for the stain to take to the end grain of the dowel more than the top. Searched for an inexpensive tailpiece that would cover the patch, but only this one would reach far enough.
    Was hoping the back and neck would come out darker. After many coats it just wasn't happening.

    Thanks Bargeloobs. I've seen the work that goes into your (and other's) guitars and this is pretty tame by comparison.

    yeah Grant the maple necks don't take the stain as well as the bodies do. BMW is a difficult stain to get right and its not as dark as some other black stains I've used

    Looks amazing Grant. I really love how your ES has turned out! Great burst that just works spectacularly well with the Bigsby and chrome pickups. It's just stunning! Great job.

    Thanks for the comments everyone. Should clarify that this is really my second build even though I didn't share the first.
