Can't say i have a multimeter lying around but will look into it. Do y'all have any that you recommend that are dirt cheap ? . All the wires on the pot with no connections had snapped as well and that back of the scratch plate is also shielded. Thanks guys

The most basic of meter from Jaycar, Dick Smith or the like should be plenty for what you are doing, or find a cheapy on ebay

OK, when you get your flippers on a meter and check that all the parts are working if you find any that are duds let me know and I will send you out replacements on the house

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

Also may be worthwhile putting them either into the (hopefully) shielded control plate or a piece of card so that you don't end up with a wire that's about 2mm shorter than it needs to be to get the pot into the hole ( ).
As for multimeters, you can get away with something as simple as: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QM1502, but for a few extra bucks, an autoranging one would be better... http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QM1524

well, i have taken it apart and re-wired it another four times ! and still to no avail and i have concluded that the bridge pick-up must have something wrong with it. i really have no idea what to do now. Should i just toss it and set her up as a single pick-up guitar or purchase another pickup ??

SB - have sent an email to DingoBass@pitbullguitars.com and I'm sure he'll have a look at this for thread for you. Adam and DB take customer support seriously so you should be seeing a new pup winging it's way to you in the not too distant future!

Looks like you have a dead pup on your hands....
Check it with your trusty multimeter and if you get no reading she is cactus.

Flick an email to Adam adam@pitbullguitars.com and he will send a replacement to you.

Hey Stringbreaker, a couple of our mods emailed me and said I should check out this thread. Actually, I've been expecting an email from you, but haven't received anything. It sounds like you've got a dead pick up (I've never heard of such a thing, but I trust my team). I don't keep spares of the pickups for all our kits, but I can order one in for you (a few weeks wait). Or, how about I refund you some of your purchase price so you can put that towards an upgrade for that pickup?

The Chinese pickups are only worth about $10 each, but if I send you a $30 refund, you can browse eBay for a suitable upgrade. I'm sure someone might even make some recommendations.

Let me know what you prefer; a replacement Chinese pickup (which might take a few weeks) or a partial refund (to spend on an upgrade).

    Cheers,

    Adam

Stringbreaker - only thing to be careful of is that the Ricky uses smaller than normal 'buckers. Not much, but a touch. Couldn't fit the Entwistles that I had on hand in...
