Hope the exams went well. Good to see you back and building, are you sticking with all PB parts?

I'm sticking to PB parts for now but I'll mod the pickguard post-build

Pest, I think the Gavmeister thought your neck may have been exposed to sun/heat before it got to you.
    Here's the link to timbermate
    http://www.timbermate.com.au/product...od+Filler.aspx
click on colour range, closest rosewood colours appear to be walnut (a bit too light) or ebony looks a little too dark.
Might be best to go to a good hardware and take your neck and compare the colour with the sample colour picture on the tub.
In the meantime you got some of DB's mantra to do - sanding !
Take your time cutting the headstock shape, just go to google images - search for strat headstock - go for an older style is cooler IMO
    Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

Got the headstock shape roughed in yesterday, copied it off my Strat copy, personally the Fender shape is too large!

I've emailed Pest a more traditional strat headstock shape but he's going to try something in between his 1st sketch and a Fender shape. You going to handsaw this at home Pest ? last I asked you the woodwork teacher wouldn't let you cut it there ?

Yeah, I'll try it freehand, if it doesn't appeal to me, I'll always have the first draft on the headstock to cut from! I'll probably cut it at home, makes it so much easier!
Apart from the fact that I'll have to go to the big green shed... Okay, Gavmeister and AJ, make some room guys!!!

So on Saturday I got all of the drilling finished, and the mock build with everything in place looks fantastic! Pics up soon when light gets better.

I am planning on buying a Dremel or similar tool and routing out the bridge pup rout to hold a humbucker, specifically the Epiphone 700T which I have removed from my Epi LP Jr, which for now is the only mod I am planning, but I might throw in a few others if I really think they are cool for this build!

Hey guys, is there a really good place where I can get a custom neck plate? I see some of the newer builds in GOTM are using them, I'm extremely curious as to where to get one

Take your neckplate to a trophy store or in a pinch one of those key cutting/shoe repair kiosks. I'd say they could do you some custom engaving.
