yer ok, you don't need much highlights to get a good effect so you should have plenty for after or mix into the last base coat.
Thats all I could think of the 'e' and 'c' being key of the song.
Can you see the silver highlights ?
I'm doing the same colours on a PBH bass and the silver highlights look good, got 1st top gloss coat on lastnight

I can just see the small amount of silver I put in but I can tell it will look good at the end coats with the remainder added.

Haven't had a chance to work on the guitar for a few weeks but now I'm at the stage where I've used up all my base coats, tops coats and clear coats and it's sat for a good week and a half so now the next part.

First thing, I have learnt the hard way about 'sand, sand and sand some more' - I obviously didn't sand enough because I can see a few imperfections - yes I know I was told and will sand for TWICE as long next time - it still looks pretty good though.

Second thing, I have applied the Wudtone extra gloss clear coat but it's not that glossy. I know we can never achieve a proper gloss but does anyone have any quick tips to maybe get a little bit more gloss on the guitar? (bearing in mind I don't have anymore Wudtone left) Buff it with something? Or apply another clear oil product?

It's not a biggy but if I'm going to do something I need to do it now before I move on.

As you're out of top coat you may just have to skip directly to the photocopy paper method, or resort to some sort of polish... but I'm sure DB will have a workaround.

actually I just threw in some hardware and I'm pretty happy with the way it looks in the flesh so I might just leave it - the next build will have hardcore sanding

If you have applied your coats with the proper intervals and very thinly you should have a fairly decent gloss. If you put the guitar onto a buffer it will shine like glass......

I think the top coats on the front are unfortunately a little thick/streaky but the back is quite a nice gloss finish so at least I know what to aim for next time. All coming together pretty well though. Just finished shielding tonight - now I just have to learn how to solder ;-)

FINISHED! I'm pretty damn happy with the result to be honest - great feeling finishing something like this. Definitely learnt a few lessons for the next one (like sand, sand and sand some more ) but all in all it came out pretty good. I will spend some time setting it up correctly but it plays nicely as is for now.

If you're wondering, 'Pravus Guitars' is the name I've come up with for my guitar brand when I start designing and making my own guitars in the future - hey a fella has to dream doesn't he? Small steps....

great effort Matt, for a first build this looks excellent. Sure you always learn something each build you will improve
