Haha, yeah mate. She's together, but I'm not satisfied with the results.
The clear coat has started lifting and chipped in a few places, so I'm gonna refinish it completely. But for now, I've lost interest. Too many things have gone wrong.

Now you know why I wont use acrylic finish on Guitars. For some reason it just never works properly 😩
There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
shame pabs, it looks great, i am still waiting for acrylic to cure on two jobs myself, wont be using it again...

Looks rad Pabs. For my own guitars I just like to use oils and stains.
... going to completely go against that for my next build though.
Fair nuff mate. Thanks for posting. I still think it looks good but I understand the want to re-finish and stalling for some inspiration. I really do luv that headstock shape though, its mad. and the black hardware and black bell knob looks great.
You never know you might get some inspiration to re-veneer it and re-bind it yourself after you've had a breather.

Back from the dead! Thread revival.
After sitting in a cupboard in pieces for 2 years, the time has come. Actually, I only just worked up the gusto to sand all the old finish off. Not fun.
About a week of not fun as it turned out.
Finally ready for some colour.
Took a couple of goes to get the shade right, but satisfied now. Of course this highlighted the small amount of orange left in the end grain that was basically invisible before. Not the end of the world, but I might end up going a bit darker around the edges to see if I can hide that a little more.

Oooooh looks nice (I liked the orange look as well though, shame it didn't finish very well)

Nice! Total bummer you had to do all that sanding, but that blue is pretty great so it was clearly worth it
