Hi Shazz, just had my first experience with a Bigsby (B5 in my case, but they are the same principle) and mine looked pretty much like yours before I strung it up. I only use 9-42 strings and even with those I had to shim the spring with a 5c piece because it was too low. So I doubt you will have a problem.

Cold bending is the usual way if required and you could also look at a replacement spring, either shorter or longer as required, presuming that they are the same size as a real Bigsby.

Lots of luck with fixing the strings to the Bigsby. Mine was a nightmare. Make sure you google before you do it. I wish I had. I found that using a capo to hold the string in tension was the best method.

Your guitar looks stunning, great job.

Hey Rob, thanks heaps for the info. I was reading on the bigsby site that people either use. 5c piece to lift it up (as you have) or they remove the plastic washer to lower it. I don't have the smallest hands for a woman so the stock height should be ok so hopefully I won't need to bend the bar.

I've looked at how to string them up and it doesn't look fun! Haha might have to get my husband to help

Thanks also for the compliments, I'm stoked and can't wait for it to be finished

Three hands and it will be a breeze, but with only two, it an exercise in pure frustration. lol

I built this same kit earlier this year. Using EB 11s it sits up about 2 1/2 inches from the body. Works great.... eventually

Awesome! I'm not sure what strings I'll use yet. I'll probably start with the PB ones that I got a couple sets of in my kit
