Sorry to hear about your job situation. What line of work was it or what are you looking to get into as there might be a few opportunities out there?

G'day Waz....I have done heaps of stuff since returning to Australia. No trade.....past jobs as investigator and manager/admin/training.

Found a bloke I can do a security cert iii with....check in with tomorrow.

Looking at unfair dismissal.....see a lawyer tomorrow. Don't really want to go back....not comfortable....but I think they need to pay a little to have me go.

Did 7 job apps online today.

Glad I ordered the guitar kit....need a diversion now. I have nearly all the bits. Yes yes yes. 😎

Wishing you good luck with finding another job and hope you can get a bit of compensation for the unfair dismissal too.

I feel a little dirty today. Yesterday I fell off the build it yourself wagon.

Hanging out to kick the big girl into action and have nothing to build or fix. So off to my local music store I went. Mooloolaba Music had a pile of Basses in the house.

I am a Yamaha fan....quality and price in my ballpark.

So in the absence of TRUE BLUE....world meet CANDY. She is a Candy Apple Red Yamaha TRBX304. My first active pickup Bass as well. Lots of bassy punch.

Aaah the feel of evil is so intoxicating.

Yes, Yamaha are widely regarded as the benchmark for quality and performance at any given price point. I have just fettled a Yamaha BB604 that I gave to our bass player some years ago now, as he'd put it aside for years but recently he he'd wanted a brighter sounding bass for some songs and had forgotten how well it played and how good it sounded (especially with the Bartolinis I fitted to it).

How do you find the pre-set EQ selection?

And any movement on the job front?

Hi Ozzie, you are full of surprises. Nice axe and I am also a Yammy fan having owned a few in the past with a Pacifica currently in the house which runs rings around many Strat's I have played.

G'day Simon. The presets all have a massive effect on the sound. However I have an Amp I do that with so I leave it on the flat setting. My amp is a Roland Bass Cube 120xl, it has a heap of models and effects built in.

Playing live using slap, pick and finger playing methods the EQ would be like an instant pedal switch.

The bass and treble boost and cut pots make nice subtle changes.

Jobs....well work paid me a whack of long service money and I have ten job applications in for jobs that close from 5 May onwards. Fingers are crossed.

    Thanks for asking. 😎

Full of something else I have been told.

I have a Pacifica 112V in Old Violin Burst here too. Great guitar that is way better than my skills.

Yamaha has been good quality and a great price for me....maybe ESP LTD Ibanez and others should be looked at too. Mmmmmm.
