If you do away with the tone controls altogether, you are going to get a much brighter sound. You may just want to fit a capacitor and resistor in series from the output signal to ground (simulating a tone pot set to 10) to tame the brightness a bit, though it may depend on the pickups used, plus personal preference. I know Strat pickups can sound rather harsh with no tone control.

Yeah right ... even with 500k pots? I'm sticking with the Dirty Torque/Blues Engine combo on the next build too ... Maybe I'll stick with master tone/volume then ...

Probably much less effect with humbuckers than singe coils. It's nothing you can't easily add at a later date.

Yeah. I think a master volume/tone setup will probably be best

Yeah cheers John. It's my first attempt at a semi scratch build (I've got an LP style neck to attach the body to) and I'm learning as I go. I'm putting a lot of time into the planning and making sure the templates are perfect. My biggest worry is making sure the neck pocket is spot on. See how I go anyway

Re-fret all done. Levelled, polished, dressed with hemispherical ends (though I might give it another once over).

All I need to do now is clean up the fretboard and edges, final cut and polish, solder the new pickups and string it up!!
