Building the x- brace. This was pretty easy thanks to Aaron's jigs.
This is radiused to 30'


The additional finger braces


And finally the bridge plate, no you can't have too many go bar rods on this!!

Nope, didn't work. Anyway, Aaron wiped some metho over the timber to give an idea of how it will look under finish. Just stunning!!

So I am being a little pedantic with the cleanliness of the build which is really impressing Aaron, but its put me behind a little. One of the other guys closed up his box today and started working on the neck. The other guy will be gluing the top on his box tomorrow morning while I'm carving my braces. Still within our time frame though.

Depends on the weather. If it stays nice, we'll spray with a nitro-celluous. If the weather turns bad, or the humidity gets wonky, we'll go with a Danish oil finish.

Doesn't look like any rain coming within next 10 days so hopefully that helps keep humidity in the right zone for you.

As you've left a small gap at the top of the rosette, is your fingerboard running all the way up to the soundhole like a classical guitar?

Yes mate, the fret board will cover that. I may even over hang the fret board into the sound hole. It's an option at least.

Dammit, is it day 5 already??!!
Part 1:
Got out of bed a little earlier today and checked out Miami Beach.



Then learned I'm sitting at #8 on the Tassie charts with my single "Everything that Glitters", just ignore the title shown in the photo, it's wrong!


First cab off the rank this morning was carving my top braces.
