    Hi Oli.
    Great minds think alike then.
I ordered 2 hot rail humbuckers from Alibaba.

Thinking of incorporating the 3 way switch to make up to 9 variations.
I don't know the first thing about wiring so it will be pure experimentation.

    Did see some humbucker schematics.
This is one that I'm playing around with.
Not at all the 'final' (I haven't put the tone pot in it yet)

BTW The red is a lot more mellow than in that shot.
Here's a quick mock-up...real life is probably somewhere between that first shot and this one.
Still lots of Tru-Oil coats to go though.

Hi Joe. I didn't end up buying the Wilkinson pickups.
Another brand (Nux) caught my eye...or should I say the price did.

I got a Wilkinson bridge for my Tele-Strat. Didn't have any quality issue with it.

I have ordered Wilkinson tuners for this guitar. Mainly cosmetic but will report any issues.

Is Wilkinson hardware good quality & value?
I've used Wilkinson hardware for years and never been disappointed. TTBOMK, the hardware is (still) made in S.Korea and made in the same factory as OEM stuff for numerous known guitar brands.
However, I believe some (maybe all, now) of the Wilkison pickups are made in China under Wilkinson licence. BUT, surprise surprise, there are counterfeit Wilkinson pickups that come out of China as well.

The only Wilko pickups I have (or have ever had) are a pair of mini humbuckers in my PRS-TS1 build. They sound great (and I am typically not a humbucker fan). I presume they were MIC, but I bought them from a reputable Seller and pretty confident they would be licenced ones.

Ha ha, hey this is what this forum is for yeah? Advice and showing off your hard work!

Thanks for the info - it's a minefield, there are so many brands being sold out of China waaaay to cheap to be original. I've found one thru a seller I use a lot who are based in Melbourne and they're always spot on with product and service. I should plug I guess? guitaraust.com.au. Well priced and fast delivery! (this is not a paid advert).
    Current Build STA-1HT
    Completed Build JZ-6
    Completed Build PBA-4

Completed LP Style (Non PBG Kit)

Hi Joe. Yes I have bought gear from GuitarAust before.

Meanwhile, I checked the feedback of the ebay seller of mustang switches..
Seems to be a litany of 'recieved the money and didn't send the item' Doh!!
So I've launched a refund through Paypal, and now placed another order elsewhere.

    cheers, Mark.

Frustrating waiting for Australia Post to pull it's finger out of it's arse.
Brought up the tracking history for the umpteenth time:

Yeah, I saw that seller's name in your earlier post. I bought some parts from that mob twice. First time was slow but acceptable. Second time was ridiculously slow and they stuffed me around. That was enough, I won't buy from them again.

I've added the name to my 'ebay blacklisted' file.
The item has been listed as posted but lounging around in Australia Post Dandenong South for a week.
I put in the request for a Paypal refund as item has not been received.
If it turns up in the next couple of days I'll refuse to sign for it and Aussie Post can take their sweet time sending it back.

    cheers, Mark.
