Looking good Pabs. Great save. I do love a nice orange tele. The quilt was beautiful but I like this as well. Sure you dont want to go high gloss??

Gav, are you volunteering? Lol. Nah, ever since I satined up the explorer, I've loved how it feels and looks. A workhorse finish, no fingerprints or sticky gloss.

Pabs, I know its a sore point, but if you don't mind. I haven't sanded through a veneer before, I'm shit scared of doing it, could you give a rough idea as to how easy it was to sand through? like what grit etc?

These quilt veneers are way thinner than the flame ones I've seen. That said, it was way too easy. I sanded gently with 180, raised the grain with a damp cloth, sanded with 240 then with 400. I have a feeling the bad one on the top horn was there before I started.
