    Update:

Just checked the last coat of Gold Paint I sprayed on the body, it has been drying for quite a few hours, it feels mostly dry to the touch, there were a few spots on the body where there were some evidence of paint-runs but I think I have managed to fix them, in one spot on the body I had to literally scrape some of the semi-dried paint off back to the grey primer undercoat, using a sharp Stanley-blade, and re-spray it with Gold paint, reason being was that the Gold paint was discolouring due to the primer not having fully dried in that spot, anyway I managed to fix it in the end and it doesn't look too unsightly at all, so I think I managed to save myself from having to strip all the paint off to start again, I might leave the Gold Strat body to dry for a few more days before I apply one final coat of Gold spray paint, I think that there is just enough left in the can to do one more coat, after that, I'll let it dry for another few more days before I start thinking of applying some coats of clear-coat, it is so close to being finished that I really don't want to risk doing anything that may jeopardize all the hard work I've put into it, it really is amazing just how little it takes to ruin a good solid-colour finish on a guitar that's in the process of drying, all it takes is something as simple as a momentary lapse in concentration, I'm sure you guys know only too well what I mean by that.

I'm just relieved that I have gotten this far with it, and the results I am getting are inspiring me to see things through to well across the finishing line.

Might post a couple of new pics in the morning so stay tuned.

    Looking good Doc.

Here's what we use on Weds evenings to emulate the Hank Sound

Recording with iPhone failed. Its all just too loud. We'll have some real recording equipment soon

Stack AC15 (or AC 30 for larger spaces)

    Update:

Due to some nameless people making noise outside my flat at 3:18am this morning, I didn't get much sleep last night so I'm rescheduling the visit to my local Officeworks for he materials I need for the headstock decal, and the Velcro, till tomorrow, meanwhile I'm going to go back to bed for some much needed shut-eye.

Here's some more pics of the Gold Strat body as it is now:

Firstly the front of the body, hopefully you can see where I had to do a re-touch spray:

Next the two areas I had to fix:

Here's a close-up of the area where I had to scrape it back to the grey primer, using a sharp Stanley-knife blade, I gave it a touch-up spray afterwards:

This was where the Gold paint had discoloured because the primer had not completely dried, I think I did a pretty good job of fixing it and it doesn't look too unsightly.

And here's the other area I had to fix, this was where I had a paint-run that needed to be sanded smooth with some 800 Grit Sandpaper, the paint-run happened when I tried to touch-up an area I missed just inside the bridge-route, and I accidentally sprayed too much paint, fortunately I fixed it and it looks okay now but it looked pretty unsightly before with the paint discolouring a bit:

So, before I go and do anything else, I'm going to let the paint have a decent amount of time to dry, I think it's about ready to be clear-coated, remember that the clear-coat I'm using will dull the shininess of the paint a bit so that those areas where I did touch-up sprays won't be so noticeable.

Hahahaha....that's actually not a bad idea at all mate, I might just revise my Headstock Decal design so it reads like this:

    Doc's Guitars
    Goldmember

    Or:

    DOC'S GUITARS
    GOLDMEMBER

But do the word "Goldmember" in the same style as used on the DVD label for the movie, I reckon that'd look cool.

I think there may just be enough Gold paint left in the can for one more coat, but I really want to let the last coat have a decent amount of drying time so I don't have any more stuff-ups to fix, seeing as I'm so close to finishing it mate.

I'm going to do a materials shopping-list for tomorrow, and see if I can check online if Officeworks stock the Waterslide Decal paper I need, might save me some time, also going to pop into Jaycar Electronics for some stuff too, as well as do the Big Green Shed visit for the Orange and White paint for the pedals.

My Canon MG2560 Printer can print in colour, so maybe I could have the word "Goldmember" in either a Yellow, or a Greeny-Gold colour.

I just found this website which could prove useful for designing the Headstock Logo:

    https://fanart.tv/movie/818/austin-powers-goldmember/

Now, what if I were to use that, but replace the words "Austin Powers" with "Doc's Guitars", wouldn't that look fully-sick on the Headstock?
