#Planning 5 String Bass
Right, the next day I went to give it another coat but thought it looked ok so decided not to.
Let it rest for another day then was thinking that a few coats would make it look even better, but my patience gave out so I assembled it.
Instantly didn't like the headstock, being a "lighter" blue so was tossing up weather to re do it or leave it, guess what? I left it.
Put on a 2nd set of strings tuned it up set the action
, gave the neck a slight tighten, reset the action then ripped some noise out of it.
Not too fussed with the sound from the back pup but turning the tone down is ok . The two pups' together is ok but need to turn the tone up for the front pup otherwise it's a bit muddy.
All in all pretty good.
1st pic outside
2nd on work bench, as is the 3rd.
4th Just lying' around showing the intonation, which will need to be shifted with the Dean Markley strings. (I haven't used that brand in over 30 years, should be interesting.)
Nice deep blue, nice build.
