    Wiring Loom

It's been a few weeks, but that's because I tripped up at the Gym while running with holding a 5 Kg weight over my head with both hands. No the weight didn't land on my head. but my chest impacted the concrete pretty damned hard, so hard I broke three ribs. they are just comming good now.
good enough to stand out in the shed and burn skin off my fingers while building the loom for this beast.

I've gone with a push pull A500k pot with .023uf and .068uf for the tone circuit, and A500k pots for the individual pick Vols and Master Vol.
I am having reservations about the three way switch as it ended up with a lot of earths attached, so may have got too hot.

All the wiring is push back cotton shielding over which I put lots of shrink wrap tubing to avoid any earths.

The layout is pretty much the same as a Gretsch but with the push pull replacing the two way tone switch.

    Hi Stan,

The Tuners are Wilkinson Imperials, the Grover Versions are about $90
From memory these are about $40 a set, I bought them when I had money... lol

using wipe on poly for my two LP projects....
Frankly, it's a tricky product and I think I prefer acrylic clear to use...

Yeah I'm with you on this Stan.
I'll be going back to acryllic. but need to get some one to show me what I am doing wrong.
I guess I need to practice a bit, so I can learn what air gun settings I should be using.

As a graduate of the Jarrod academy for guitar clear coating, I have to say acrylic all the way. After my massive fail with Minwax poly on the stone roses build I won't go near the stuff anymore. Nitro is also an option but it's sooo expensive. Acrylic in bulk from the auto sprayer, on in a can from the big green shed is my choice for solid colour builds all the way.

    cheers,
    Gav.

Getting the pickups ready, doing that Voodo that I do, do so well

Soldering up the pickups, but still a long way to go with the gloss.

Should have left the Minwax alone and used spray on stuff. Minwax takes more coats to build a gloss than shellac. Three coats of acrylic would have doen the job.

Pickups are gold toasters fitted to Seymour Duncan tripple shot surounds.
Combine this with the push pull tone control, this baby should have a huge dynamic tone range.

Great wiring ideas mate. Very tidy. Do you play a bit of jazz?
