    Hello from Miami

    Greetings from Miami, FL!

I have just joined. Been lurking a bit. Working up my nerve to try an ES4-B. I have been playing bass for a long time... My main bass is a G&L ASAT that I have modded quite a bit. I also have a cheap Chinese Jazz that I put DiMarzio J's in, and an old mid-70s Fender Precision. I also have an old (1968) Fender Coronado II semi-acoustic, that I love. I have really wanted a 34" scale semi-acoustic like it. Something just loud enough for me to hear without plugging in, for noodling and such. I hadn't seen anything like the ES4-B's until I saw the Pitbull kits on ebay. Looks just perfect if I can hack the build. Hoping that I can come up with the skills to mount the neck right and not botch the finish too badly. Will be looking for advice along the way if I manage to pull the trigger.

    ESB-4 build sounds great.

Start a build diary when it arrives and do a mock build to make sure it all fits together

ask any questions you have there, there is plenty of help/knowledge/experience on the forum

Welcome along - by my reckoning - us bass builders out number the guitar builders - as it should be!

Thanks, guys. I have built a few Bill Fitzmaurice cabs, and the associated forum was a huge help. The forum here's a great selling point. Hope to get started soon.

Hey Bman, I bet guitar builds compared to bass builds on this forum would be at least 2:1 in favour of guitars !

although there has been quite a few new bass builds of late
