What I save on expensive beer goes back into guitar builds & acquisitions.
Hey Woks, you must be earning way more than me to afford all that Craft Beer and vast guitar collection.

Time for an update. Over past few weeks have applied 4 coats of TO by brush, left to cure for a few days and last weekend wet sanded with 1500 grit. Ragged a further 4 coats on during the week and took these shots outside using overcast skies for some soft natural lighting. The colour in photos is a true representation of how it looks and really pleased with colour toning.

This one being my 2nd build is turning out better than my first attempt with the EX-5. Found that brushing on the TO helped to level out any highs & lows in the grain after staining as some areas looked drier or thirstier than others. after 4 coats it looked thick enough to handle a light wet 1500 sand and then switched to ragging on next coats. Almost like a piece of glass now with only a few small ripples here and there. Will probably do 2000 wet sand tomorrow, add a few more coats then leave for a while to cure before using Maguires for final polishing.

Thanks Woks, thinking of setting the neck soon and then a few more TO coats to bring the neck & joint together. The hanging Rod is a huge bolt I had kicking around and finding it better to use than bit of timber screwed in neck pocket as I did on the EX-5 as you can get closer to the neck pocket edges when finishing. Also swivels around so I can spin the body quite easily whilst hanging to put coats on front or back.

Thanks Swanny, patience, more patience, and even more patience......bit like doing the sanding except if you rush things it is 2 steps forward and many more backwards.
