You would get on well with these guys they are V8 super car crazy, annual trips to Bathurst etc etc.
    My wife has just put a deposit on a V8 mustang, it's a 12 month wait ...
Hi Bruce, I work at a Ford Dealership and we have been informed fresh Mustang Orders may not arrive until March 2017. Your wife's may arrive sooner if she ordered hers a few months ago. We just had our initial batch of 3 x 4 cyl turbo convertibles delivered on Xmas Eve - one in Ruby Red (best colour), another in Race Red, and the other one was Magnetic which is a dark metallic grey. Surprisingly they all had the black wheel option? Now they have arrived we have taken plenty of fresh orders.

@ Wokkaboy - you can buy a V8 Mustang for less than $70k. What colour did you want for yourself?

Waz, do you think they will ever catch up to the orders? or are they purposefully keeping it demand positive?

Hi Andy, been in the Motor Industry for over 20 years and seen this happen with many different models. For example, late 1999 there was 15 month wait on Mercedes Benz CLK Convertibles and eventually supply caught up with demand.
Mustang is a bit different as there has been plenty of interest for a long time and when LHD imports converted to RHD were costing around $140k it is a no brainer than the real deal done RHD from the factory for half that price would outsell supply. We are also competing with other RHD countries such as UK too. It might take up to a couple of years from now for that order bank time line to come back under 12 months. These represent great value compared to outgoing FPV GT's and also the XR8 which is basically an undressed GT as it has all the same running gear for much less cost. Don't know if we will end up like Monaro in that when I was working in Holden dealerships everyone had to have one from around 2000 but when VZ versions came out around 2006 they became hard to shift and sadly production ended when they released VE.

She's gone for the ruby red, black wheels and the V8. No point getting a mustang and not having the 8:-)

Hi Bruce, you will both be happy with that colour and engine combination. Beats me why anyone goes for the 4 cyl as V8 is not that much dearer? It was same with Monaro where only a few Supercharged V6's were sold and they were avoided like the plague when offered up as a trade-in.

Sorry to thread jack you but I thought you would appreciate these photos. White one is V8 Auto that just arrived today whilst Red one is our 4cyl Turbo Demo that spends most of it's time up at Noosa. Believe we have a White convertible coming as our Demo.
If Woks is keeping an eye on this surely even he would have to agree these are sexy looking machines.
