Those two blokes should never have been underneath those slabs and it reflects badly on an industry that is rife with cowboy antics, mostly due to the devil may care attitude of the companies in the construction industry.
There is also a thing called common sense... Don't stand anywhere near stuff that is being lifted by a crane. It's that simple.


I remember how anal they were about OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) when I was in South Headland doing my tech for my 3 year apprenticeship as a fitter and machinist at Pundlmurra College in the late 90's, you were not allowed anywhere near the workshops if you didn't have a pair of steel-cap shoes, a pair of safety glasses, hearing protection, or overalls on, I remember one student accidentally setting himself on fire while attempting to start an engine after working on it, the OHS guys came and did a full investigation of the incident.
