Hi Mateyboy, I missed your build diary thread.

As long as you get at least 3 good colour coats on the neck you shouldn't sand through to the primer. The thicknesses of the coats shouldn't be that noticeable compared to the fretboard. Just wet sand it with at least 1200 grit paper and cut and polish and it should look sweet. Obviously allow plenty of curing time.

Fretboard finish there are plenty of oils and waxes available. Dingo wax works well available from the PBG shop
    Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

    I'll give that a go.

I think my first task before glueing the neck on is to stain the fretboard with some sort of ebony. After I have sanded down the whole thing!

    Thanks guys.
