good point Rabbitz, would be like tuning the axe in reverse and would become confusing
Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck
Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in
The tension load would also be on the wrong side of the spindle - I don't know if this would affect the stability (depends on the internals I suppose).
I have a question though, apart from aesthetics, what is the reason for a reverse headstock?

I admit that I am an agent of Satan, however, my duties are largely ceremonial.

what I read Rabbitz was the shorter distance nut to tuner peg on treble strings means slightly less tension on the string and easier bends on the treble strings

DB split the bridge and weights are as per normal. Must just be the way it balances in the hand that made it seem the other way round

@Stan - Thanks Mate I am not the most prolific of posters ( member two years just cracked 500) but having a crack at a good review as was part of the kit deal.
@Woks - Karijini is the colour and should look really cool. Will have some questions about gold highlights I have from 2 years ago that still seem ok a little later in the build.
Not sure of any of the reasons behind reverse head stocks but to some they just look cool. As for the tuners I think there have been some previous threads about pull on the gearing from the wrong direction allowing slippage. Also just doesn't look right on the back of the head-stock.
Tony
Speaking of reverse head-stocks.
Have done some rough lineage of what I will be trying to do.
In homage to ( ripping off) other guitar designs going to step the headstock down to the inner line and apply some veneer to the area that will get the same colour as the body. Will still end up stepped by about 1mm or so with veneer attached. Have some flamed maple veneer lengths that have some areas that have an interesting grain but not flame that will have some character.
Have gone away from traditional Strat shape as dont want to be continuously reminded of being unable to afford a mint 90s N4.
