doesn't look too bad Brett and thank god the spalted cap wasn't damaged.
if the iron and wet cloth doesn't work I'd fill the dents/teeth marks.
Might look like the axe has been gigged a bit but when you tell people a dog bit your bass that will be an entertaining story !
