For some things, some times, it's the same time all over the world, and I think we know what time that is...

Had some fret wire turn up the other day so was finally able to move forward. Made up a jig to bend the fret wire although I didn't need it this time round, I'm sure it will come in handy further down the track.
Re cut the fret slots and banged em' in. The all seated really nicely which was a relief.
Edges beveled and it's looking like a guitar neck again:-)

As you can see I left the tangs visible on the outside edge for the simple fact I don't own one of those nibbler tools. I don't mind that look too much anyway.

nice one Barge, love your fret bending jig. So it works well ? Good idea with the fret holder with all the fret numbers.

So should be a fret level and bolt it together ?

How did you get the fret edges nicely bevelled ?

Nice job. For a first time fretter, you seem to have nailed it.

Nope, didn't even need a fret level Wokks, just goes to show how how important a flat fingerboard is.
I just cannibalized a couple of my Bunnings files for the fret edges. One to get the flush edges was chopped up, and stuck to a block I fashioned out of silkwood, the other for the bevels I ground the sides smooth so it could run on the fingerboard without damaging. Seemed to work sweet.

Yeah man, it couldn't have gone any better really. Gotta have a win every now and again aye bro;-)

So after a bolting the neck back on, I strung her up, set her up, and low and behold....it actually plays this time, woo hoo!!
I was definitely expecting to do some sort of fine tuning with the frets, but to my utter amazement it plays up and down the neck, with no buzz or fretting out. Must be my lucky day:P
Intonated, string height set (to a very respectable action), I might add, and we have one completed guitar.
You know what they say, better late than never:-)
