nice one Chips it's come up really nicely and you've done some nice mods with the shaping and upgrades.
I'm sure the tele napper will be happy with a couple of tele entries this month !
Now the build is entered Chips you better get back on your bike on the Californian Highway bro !

One of the things we Judges look at (only because we never get to actually hear the guitars is to see if the guitar has been intonated. You might want to attend to this on your entries since if you have a really nice looking ax and it would be a shame to lose 'points' for this.

Don't forget the headstock logo too.

    Good luck with the GOTM
    Two questions:

    1) How does one tell from a photo that intonation has be done?

    2) What if you don't want a headstock logo?

Hey Rabbitz, usually if a guitar/bass is intonated the saddles will be further back for the thicker wound strings and closer to the nut the thinner the string. Then the G string on a guitar is generally a bit further back than the D string then closer to the nut for B and E strings. See picture this is roughly what a bridge of a G type guitar should look like.
This of course is only a guide as it depends on nut height, string gauges, bridge height and the angle of the bridge relative to the nut.

You should tune the guitar then move the saddles until the open note is exactly the same as the 12th fret harmonic.

In regards to headstock logo thats a personal preference to the builder, totally up to you. The judges feel that if you have built the guitar you should be proud to put your name or a guitar name on the headstock

You can't really. There are too many factors at play to say 'this' is what it should look like, but there is a generally accepted starting point as Wokka's pic shows which is what one expects to see. What Gavin is getting at (I believe) is in Tom's pics the saddles sit in a straight line, this should never usually happen and gives the impression that the intonation would be off.
