Jeff, that's odd with the veneer. My recent TLA-1 kit has none, but anyhow the grain underneath still looks nice and 'meaty'!

Well its been awhile since I posted on my build. After modifying the original blank of the Tele, ( it almost looks like a lovechild of a Strat and Jaguar), it was the usual sand, sand etc. and then stain, sand, sand, as I couldnt get the results I was looking for. The pics are as it stands at the moment, happy with the front and neck, not sure about the back, ( no photos). Wife loves the back!
Upgraded the bridge. Could all change; wonder if there is enough wood to sand again?
Just a few pics........Jeff.

Thanks, Arzi
Good job Jeff. Especially like the custom pickguard, it compliments the body shape nicely. Finish also looks sensational!

The finish looks fantastic on this Jeff! Gives the grain that 3D look. Very nice.
Love it Jeff!

thats random that it had a veneer on the back though. i wonder if thats a standard thing for the factory now? could be good for double binding
Digging the re-shaping work and the mods Jeff, excellent stuff!!
