Sounds like you may or may not have just written the greatest song in the world:P

Went lightly over the body with a bit of soapy water on some cotton balls and managed to get the figure to pop quite a bit more. Looks lovely:-)

Note the "May or may not"

The sandblasting looks like it went better than I originally thought, the axe looks nicely aged by the pics! Might need some more red if you want that really deep blood looking red though Barge, other than that it's a sweet finish so far!

    Thanks @Fretty,Stan

So I manage to score myself a second hand orbital sander of Ebay the other day and the only thing I'm asking myself is why didn't I get one of these from the very first build? I just saved myself literally days of sanding.
Went over the back & sides with the orbital (180 grit), smooth out a few more lines then threw on some sealer. I'll sand that off with some 320 and it should be ready for some masking tape. I've got an antique white nitro on the way which I'll use for the binding then over the whole body with satin nitro clear.

Wow you didn't own an orbital ? it was one of the first power tools I got, would have arms bigger than Popeye if I didn't own one !
Edit its a Ryobi orbital, I've been through two of them in the last 12 months, the motor just dies, hope you don't have the same problem

haha I assumed you would have one Barge with all the amount of shaping you have done.

Bugger I got to head off to an early footy game soon, won't have time to continue the Barge/Woks show
