Sorted the headstock yesterday and have applied the first coat of intensifier today, really loving how it's popping! Can't wait to chuck on another coat. I'll probably leave it a full week or so as it's been really cold here in Melbourne and the stain took ages to dry. On the plus side, my room now smells amazing - full of that citrusy smell of dingotone! I'll try get some photos up tomorrow, got 2 assignments left and I'm in full study mode trying to get them done by Monday!
Such great customer service from Adam, realised I didn't have any pickup rings as I ordered the kit without pickups and the toneriders don't come with rings, he's ordered me a set and is sending them over soon at no cost! Wow.

What a week! Finally finished all my assignments! Just smashed out another coat of intensifier. I also did the headstock last week/stained it, coming along nicely! Little box of goodies came yesterday in the mail too, got my Tonerider Generators, pups, caps, output jack, pickups rings and some braided wire, it's made me super keen to get into the business side of things. I'll be heading to Brisbane to see my family for two weeks, so that'll give it plenty of time to dry. Then I've got a few weeks off uni so I can really focus on getting this bad boy done.

On a separate note, has anyone had any experience with staining or painting the binding? I think it'd look really great if I could stain or paint it black to go with the rest of the hardware.

I'd rather not upload onto here, as the quality of the pictures really doesn't do it justice. Let me know how that link works, if it's not too good I'll try again uploading them on here!

Looking real good. Loving that yellow. As for binding, it's plastic (ABS I believe), so stain or paint won't adhere or dry and may smear with the clear coat. Not saying it hasn't been done, but I wouldn't.

This is going to look amazing when finished.
Luke I use the image storage service called Cloudinary They give you 2 GB of free storage and it's easy to link up your images to your posts. Just untick "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" in the insert image dialog and you can have any quality image displayed.

Hey guys! Haven't had a chance to upload many photos as I've going along, but I've finished all of the coats and have glued the neck on (way easier than I thought it was going to be), just waiting on an order of shielding paint I've ordered from the UK to arrive before I can start on the electronics. Something I have noticed though, is that even with over two weeks of drying time after 3 coats of the final coat, it seems to still be 'wet'. It's dry to the touch, although it feels a bit tacky, however what I've noticed most is that when sitting with it on my lap, it has, ever so slightly, rubbed off a bit of colour onto my pants, not fully sure if it's because of the cold weather that it's taking it's time to dry or if it's something else? It doesn't come off if I rub it with my fingers, but if anything hard bumps it, I can see it's come off, or if I buff it with a white cloth. Any advice would be really great!

Someone here successfully dyed the binding black, but I can't remember who or on which guitar. I remember we were all a bit shocked that it worked.
