    Lest we forget

My father here at the head of the casket in Vietnam ( RIP dad & Dasher you were hard bastards of the best kind ), dad served as a commando in WW2, as an infantryman post war in PNG & Malaysia and finally as an advisor in Vietnam

And my wife's grandfather with his MC citation for gallantry at Fromelles ( his story is in the book " Don't Forget Me Digger" ) sadly I don't have a pic to put up for Jan's dad, did his duty in WW2 and we will be by his side tomorrow in what will almost certainly be his last ANZAC day

Just got home and cracked the first beer of the day after leaving home 12 hours ago for the dawn service, spent the day wearing my fathers medals they are very heavy in more ways than one.

When you look at those "pieces of tin" worn so proudly on so many chests remember that each one represents someone doing something or seeing something that no man should ever have to.

    Lest we forget
