Yeah Pest, it's the binary representation of the word binary in ASCII in response to Dave's 'there are 10 types of people...' post. If Dave wrote the joke in hex it wouldn't have quite the same impact.

Hex is just binary shorthand for humans. Binary is base 2, hex is base 16, four bits in binary represents 16 (0-15), so every four bits can be represented by one hex digit. To convert the binary to hex, just work right to left four bits at a time

    Code:
    0110|0010 0110|1001 0110|1110 0110|0001 0111|0010 0111|1001
       6|2 6|9 6|E 6|1 7|2 7|9
So, ASCII encoding for the word binary in hex is:
    0x62 0x69 0x6e 0x61 0x72 0x79

Being a coder, Gav can only count up to 1023 on his fingers.

(By the way Gav, fantastic looking result, a masterpiece)
    Scott.

    Hey guys,

I was never a strat guy, but...

with a bone nut finally installed on this baby I've been noodling around on for a week now and I'm just so impressed with this kit. Maybe my playing is improving (not likely) but there's just oodles of sustain and those stock pickups really sound amazing. I'm planning on winding a set of my own pickups when the materials arrive, but the stock offerings are really, really nice! I can see why Callum loves his PBG strat so much. For surf stuff, or that single coil rock sound, she just sounds excellent.

    cheers,
    Gav.

All of that is true! I tend to have a subtle slapback delay.... Man I never knew I could build something so nice sounding!

Agreed re: stockies. I keep resisting hotter singles though... I think a p90/filitron guitar must be next after the 7 maybe a hollow body!
