Ooh, speed holes! The arm rest is a cool addition too. Getting less and less strat like.

Hahaha speed holes, more like 'how am I gonna cover up the bits of veneer that I sanded through' holes:-)

Hey bro, yeah unfortunately I've been neglecting the guitar building (and the Barge/Wokka show) lately, but I thought it was about time to get stuck in again.
I totally took the old finish off, re-bound it, drilled some "speed holes" and bound those. And yeah I just used SM super glue to stick the veneer to the pickguard plastic, hope it holds:P

nice one Barge, glad your back to building again. Probably worth putting some clear coats over the veneer on the plastic. Speed holes a great workaround and bet they look cool with binding !
You made page 24 on your diary, getting close to Pests record !

Not without enlarging the cavity Stan to compensate for all the meat on the underside of the tremolo.

Hey Barge, I'll check the scale length on one of my 24,000 ST kits tonight and post it on this thread tonight. I haven't had any issues with scale length so not sure if its your new bridge but you said the stock bridge isn't giving you good intonation distances
You are always a step ahead big fella hahah

hey Barge looking at the pics of the mock build the front of the bridge usually butts up against the bottom of the pickguard, so are you saying thats as far north the bridge will go with the trem cavity ? Looks like its got to shift closer to the nut, you may even need to cut small holes in the pickguard for the pivot screws. Hope you got enough meat to re-drill the pivot screws. Looks like you may have to route out a larger trem cavity if thats the case
