Love the bridge cover Brendan, I will definitely have to get one when I break out my jazz bass kit. Are you going to fit a pickup cover too?

    cheers,
    Gav.

Thanks for the feedback guys - no neck pup cover - find that it gets in the way if I do get to a point where I can slap & pop, so will leave it off on this one. The bridge cover though - I don't find myself playing over the bridge pup often so should be OK.

And yes - the grain is fantastic. As I'm sanding, every time I wet down the body, I'm starting to question whether I should go some colour and pop the grain...

I think it's screaming for some pop + stain but it's up to you mate. That grain is pretty impressive on the upper bout/horn

nice kit your scored Bman. Keen to hear how the Entwistles sound. I got one of these kits in my pile of unbuilt kits, will get around to this one some stage.
You going natural or what stain you going with Bman ?

Wondering if I can do a satin in colourless Dingotone... That would match the VP. That said - seeing all these blue axes going around...

so many options Bman. I did an IB5 with nice grain in wudtone amber and that came out nice. Some sort of light brown may go well, DB could do a lighter version of nullarbor ochre possibly would look the goods.
Saying that I might do mine in nullarbor ochre, will decide when I finally get it out of the box. As its a bigger box than guitar kits its at the bottom of a pile 11 high, with a few not mine haha

So - getting back to a couple of projects - I've thought of revisiting this... Stained it with Dingotone colourless, but was never totally satisfied with the outcome - the dark and light bands and the jaundiced yellow look - well - just not convinced, so I'm considering sanding back and restarting... Was thinking to go dark brown or black - any thoughts?

pity the colours of the different pieces of ash are so different Bman, would look much better if it was a consistent colour.
Think Dedman's suggestion would look cool.
How did the 3 dams ride go yesterday what time did you ride the 150km ? You must be a bit sore today !

Now that's over you can concentrate on your builds more !

Ebony grain fill and then DT outback sunset for a burnt orange effect with black scratch plate. Presume it will have a rosewood fret board?
