I'm confident in my strings that they're not the issue. I always wrap low and down. I even added extra length to get an extra wrap around the pole.

Retainer is a good idea but they are kind of ugly on this axe I think

Probably wouldnt help that much, but there are height adjustable tuners available.

Jeepers, that axe looks totally pelagic - waves of grain and a perfect watery translucence.
Only criticism is the "stand on your head-stock" I don't like 'em and look at all the hassles it's given you.
Otherwise 10/10
