Sounds like a cruisy life but as you say money must be hard, especially now your getting a good GAS figure hahha
I enjoy building guitars to the point where I could actually see myself getting into it quite seriously further down the track. Not that there's lots of money to be made for a one man band but it'd be good to sell an axe here and there for a bit of beer money, new tools etc.
Buying the new house last year is gonna open up some doors and help make the dream a reality too.
Did I mentioned I sold the "Blacktop" before Christmas?

Unfortunately once we get to the Dingotone stage things are gonna come to a screaming halt, maybe make the March GOTM:-)

yeah think I read somewhere Barge you sold the blacktop, that must have been a sad moment to part with her.
Yeah I forgot Dingotone needs heaps of patience but worth the end results.
Its not worth rushing a build just to enter GOTM anyway.

Couldn't agree more, I'm actually really excited to see how the Dingotone comes out after my little test today, it looks great. Actually it smells pretty damn good too, I was almost tempted to have a try:-)

yeah cool you will love DT nullarbor ochre. It does smell nice hey. Thats what you get with no drying agents and more pure ingredients.
So you just got to wait for the binding glue to dry, how long does that take a few days ? Then tidy up the binding.
Then sand the cap to about 320 grit should be heaps. You know how thin the cap is !

Nah it's dry now Wokks, I just went and pulled the tape off before (pretty warm here today, and even warmer in the shed). I've just had to re-tape a couple of little bits around the horns that weren't as tight as they could have been, but other than that it looks choice.
Yeah like you say a bit of a tidy up and a sand and she should be ready for some colour.

awesome work Bargey, I have no doubt you will sell plenty more guitars

This is really interesting. Like you said, it's about having fun and getting what you want out of the hobby. Who cares what anyone else thinks, enjoy the journey, this is cool
