The 2 kits I got look good and the neck pockets are fairly tight. I ordered the last special to make sure I got one !

Righto, 6 pages into a build diary is a good a place as any to start actually building a guitar...
First impressions are excellent, I can't fault it. The routs are clean, neck pocket is nice and snug, nice even fret job.
One oversight on my behalf (and comments from Wokka and Fretworn now make sense) is that I didn't realize these ST kits now have body contours as standard, I swear the earlier kits were plain Jane and if you wanted that sort of thing you had to carve it yourself, so the elbow cut kind of throws a spanner in the works as far as my binding job goes.
Never to mind, I'm adaptable and I'll come up with something (see attached pic)
Next time I post there'll bit a bit less wood on this kit...
He will be missed, but not really...
