Ahh. So, you're building them so that she can release HER artistic flair./<\\/p>[]<\\/p>/Quote from jarrod on June 8, 2014, 00:36

That's very selfless and loving of you Jarrod!
What can I say lowry, Im in charge in our household but only when Vick says I am.
hahaha...my wife picks the colours too. It gets really difficult as I will have my heart set on something and she will strongly discourage it (while encouraging me to follow her recommendation)./<\\/p>[]<\\/p>/Quote from jarrod on June 8, 2014, 00:36

Admittedly, she has a greater sense of style than me, so its probably not a bad thing (plaid guitars anyone?).
Darren
A plaid guitar? Hell, why not, we've had a paisley one!
And the paisley is awesome. Plaid is possibly not quite as cool....an it was done a number of years ago by Blues Saraceno....

How interesting reading back on some of the older posts....came across this one from Andyport....reckon there's no issue in Andy's home now about building the guitars he puts out...in fact I'm sure there would be a queue of members sending their guitars his way to build if he offered...did he offer? Or did I just dream that up???/<\\/p>[]<\\/p>/Quote from Andyport on August 13, 2013, 07:46
As a footnote though.....and to her defense....
I have only built the one kit, and about to start the second.
Maybe after a few more her attitude may change.
Should get in now while the going is good!!

When you compare the cost of buying a factory-made guitar to a guitar made from a kit, it makes building a guitar from a kit pretty attractive, okay, Fender price a Standard Stratocaster at something like $1800.00, or maybe more if you're buying a signature model.
A decent Gibson USA Les Paul Standard might set you back something like 3 or 4 grand.
My main justification for building a guitar is that I really enjoy making things.
