Keen to hear it. What's the grounding issue? Does the humming stop when you touch hardware? Which hardware does it stop with?

Whoops sorry, should be ok now. Guitar hums a bit but will only stop if you touch the output jack. I even run an extra wire from that point to the shielding but made no difference.
I replaced the output jack as the one with the kit was really loose.
Hi lunatichighs, I like your LP, looks great.
Rick.
Hey Looney,
nice video, haven't heard wish you were here with a distorted sound too often, Ryan is doing very well for his age !
Axe looks great. Did you try bending the ear that makes connection to the lead tip on the output jack ? this can make the lead make a more solid connection. Did replacing the jack get rid of the humming and did you copper shield tape the control cavity ?

Yeah amp sound is his setting and as a beginner he is still experimenting. Mind you stock pups do seem to dirty up pretty easy which is not a bad thing.
No replacing output jack didn't get rid of noise but did make the thing work with a good connection. Sheilded pickup cavity and control cavity, it's funny though as grabbing the lead at the output jack silences the noise but touching pups or bridge or anything else doesn't, weird.
Thinking i might redo all the electrics again as i was really tired when i did it the first time and you never know might have done something wrong. Weird though as everything works like it should just noisy.
yeah ok not sure whats causing the hum Looney. Think I've had the same situation where touching the output jack eliminates the hum but I can't remember what I did to solve the problem. Could even be a slightly faulty pot or switch, maybe Weirdbits the wiring guru can suggest a fix. Another thing to check if any stray wires are being earthed or touching another pot lug, only needs 1 wire strand to cause havoc. Its important to have good light when wiring and being tired doesn't help. Let us know how you go

No worries mate, will let you know how it goes.
I don't suppose you have the hot and ground reversed on the output jack lugs?
Scott.

Great he is so motivated at the moment. Told me the LP is definitely a boy coz it's not quite as sexy as his SG and that is a girl. There is logic there i guess lol.
Mind you he is definitely a lead guitarist, watches me on the bass and tells me you're only doing single notes, I could do that.
So I turned up the metronome to 120 during his practice lol.
