    more.

just want to say thanks to everyone who posted encouragement and advice on here and the billions of other threads since this build has been going. i really appreciate each and everyone's time and words, without you legends id still be trying to figure out which end the paint comes out of the can.

there are a few things on the guitar that i'm not entirely happy with and they are mainly down to the finish of the thing. for me, trying to do a burst with a $10 supercheap rattle can was a bit naive, but its how we learn i guess. also, i learnt its probably easier to mask something off properly, once, leave the tape on and only remove it when your done painting.
as far as setting up an electric, learning to flatten and recrown frets was something i have never done, and also have a proper file on the way for the next build.

again, thanks to everyone who stopped by to check this thing out, will be posting some video maybe tomorrow, defs next week.

you got to be happy with the result of the 1st build Andrew, the main thing is you learnt heaps and the next build will improve. You will look back at this axe and remember where the journey began.
I still look at my 1st build was a EX-1 and I clear coated it and remember where I started

That's it hey. Planning on doing the final set up tonight. It already sounds massive just need a few tweaks to the intonation and nut height and it will be sweet.

    good stuff Andrew,
when I built my 1st kit there wasn't the amount of help on the forum so I sort of learnt the hard way but my 1st build EX-1 still sounds pretty good for a stock built kit

I could imagine. A wiring diagram and good intentions. So appreciative of everyone's help.

Awesome! Love the thunderhorse tribute, and the explorer shape looks spot on. I've just received a spalted LP to build, but I think I'm going to have to put one of these (finished in off white, black hardware, no pickguard, as a tribute to a certain guitarist mentioned earlier in this thread) on my shortlist. Nice work! Are you happy with how it plays and sounds?
