All jokes aside and "purists" be damned, if you nail this I reckon you could triple your investment on this project. I absolutely love the direction you're headin' thus far.

Second stain layer is on, pics to come. Think I will leave it at that too

Looking awesome Stan! The stain looks fantastic on the back and sides. This is goig to look amazing when done. When you say black gloss, do you mean stained black with clear coats? Or do you mean black solid colour?

After the clamping, neck is a little better, but not right.

So now my choices are:

Remove fingerboard, sand the neck flat, new fingerboard - possibly put in an adjustable trussrod (my preference is this one)Also can change the radius to 12 or 16 inches.

Defret, sand existing fingerboard into correctness and refret (As advised by DB)Far less complex - but it wouldn't be the Stan way to do it easily... Could possibly sand to new radius as well.

I have been strongly advised against removing the neck, and really there isn't any need to do so.

Up for hearing about any other options

Front in high build primer. Sanded fine and ready for top coats after curing since this pic.
Top will be painted black and high gloss clear over that.
Edges/sides got another coat of stain, not as dark as in the pic, you can still easily see the grain:

Only thing I could suggest to make things a little easier on you is to post it to me and I'll do it.
After that I'll send it back to you when I'm sure everything has settled and it plays well. Honest.
