Looking awesome. A very close stand in for TV yellow.

    Thanx Guys.

I spent hours trawling paint shops for colour cards, and then just lucked onto Rust-Oleum. It lacks tha opacity of a genuine TV-Yellow. I tried to find something more akin to the original. but the only thing apart from this paint that I could find was 250ml of nitro from the UK. and no way was I going to risk death and the nauty room by using that. I did think of using butterscotch on it but then I'd just be copying Gav DCJR. :P
next job is to sort the headstock shape and then the Japan Black on the face

    Cheers PK

    Thanks Budi.

I hope your DCJunior comes up well to. I don't remember what the Mahogany figuring was, but I think is was quite nice. You should do a diary on it too.

    Cheers PK

BWAHHHHH I actually did it. I hand shaped the headstock on the "Mellow Yellow"

All I had was a paper cut our of the headstock to work with, and one half round file.

    Not bad for an amo.

now your gunna say it's only a Gibson shape. Well AFAIC it's harder to do one of these than to make up something completely random. with this there is no room for error. :P

Nice work. That Gibson headstock shape is notoriously hard to get even in my experience. Great job..

    cheers,
    Gav.

I am a bit underwelmed by the japan black. might have to add it to some shellac or Krylic to get that deep cover I am looking for.

From memory the Japan Black is "semi transparent" PK. That said, a couple of layers of somthing glossy and it should look the business!
