To answer your question yeah it is the "G" word in a beautiful MOP inlay.
Anyway I've hit hurdle number two today in the form of a water slide decal that didn't want to play nice with my nitro lacquer.
No worries, sanded back three good coats and decided to use a spare vinyl one I had laying around.
After four really heavy luscious coats of lacquer everything was looking nice then all of a sudden the vinyl decal started to disintegrate.
That's when I cursed the "G" word and pulled pin for the night. Now I'm faced with the prospect of yet again having to sand back another four coats of nitro, not to mention having to wait for more waterslide decals which are as dear as poison and apparently manufactured on Mars.
I knew everything was going too smoothly...
Nice work mate- headstock overlay seems to make the shaping a little easier, looks good

bugger Nigel about the logo disintegrating. Sucks having to sand back. Was the logo a bit old did you say ?

Well I can't really say how old it was but it had only been in my hands for mere days, honestly man it does suck just a tad. I'm sure I'll have a more positive outlook in the morning.
So this was the neck "pre disaster" sanded clean, headstock planed to correct thickness and masked ready to shoot some clear over my LP water slide logo.
This was the second attempt using a much thicker vinyl decal after the water slide decal failed (catastrophically), as you can see it didn't fair much better so all efforts are now concentrated on the body whilst I mentally build myself up to sand the headstock back....again.
Although me old mate at Crox Guitars was nice enough to send out another decal I've decided I'm flagging the whole "LP MODEL" logo in favor of my own design. Just waiting to hear back from a printing company right here in Aus about getting a metallic gold water slide made up.
Sheeet dude, my plan is to cut a stencil and paint the gold lettering, maybe that's an option for you. And that is a kickass headstock, didnt see it written, did you plug the machine head holes?
I gotta say this body took some real sanding to get out some hella deep scratches, especially around the sides, I swear the guy at the factory must have have been leaning on it with both feet on the wall.
That aside I'm stoked with the final outcome, there's some real sexy grain coming through and I can't wait to shoot some clear over top and really see it pop.
