Hey DB, thanks for the booze ban lift and Miss Fe's approval of my lawn/garden haha
I got a 2nd sunset outback orange (love the name !) colour coat on yesterday and am getting Wayne to air brush a black/red thin burst, should come up a treat, will post some photos later. I reckon lately the ST-1 basswood grain has been improving on earlier models, they consistently have pretty good grain,
here's a pic of another ST-1 I'm working on, just cut the headstock yesterday and got an Andyport logo on

    Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

    Anyone for a colourless Dingotone?

Now for a give away competition.....

    Who can identify the timber?

First correct answer will receive a Get out of the Naughty Room for Free card AND a free 25ml jar of Dingotone Guitar wax from DB 8-)

(Competition is not open to Moderators or Pit Bull staff, their families etc etc blah blah blah)

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

Okay its a long shot, although not entirely unheard of (Fender did it in the 50s), but I'd call Pine? (trying to think something nothing like Maple, and it looks a bit like a coffee table I used to have.. actually, a bit nicer than a coffee table ).

    Cheers
