I find myself somewhat lusting after that bottom bass. Beautiful wood and gorgeous clean lines. Has it got a piezo pickup in the bridge?

These do appear on another thread, but deserve to be here in their own right. And made by DB himself!

they appear in my thread about tone, and there is no doubt that these are not only beautiful, but tone monsters as well, they are awesome! Bone bridge for the win!

That burl top is outrageous, in fact that guitar is pretty outrageous.

Wow Brendan.... When did you sneak my beasties in?.... only just spotted them 8O

Lawry, the Bass in question has the EMG HZ hidden under the top... there is a wafer thin section of the top left.
It was very stressful routing out the cavity as I was worried I would cut through and spoil the beautiful Spalted Black Sassafras top!

This one, known as Mr Tim's Bass of extreme sexiness was a collaborative effort between our very own Tim (builder of the stunning Midnight Bass) and I.
Tim designed and I built her.

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

DB Figured that they fully deserve to be here - if I'm looking for inspiration, this thread and GOTM are the first two stops.

    That's amazing, DB.
Tell me about the bridge. Is it a floater? I'm curious about action and intonation adjustments (yeah, I know, it's fretless - but you've still got to get these things closer than ball-park).

not sure if I have seen Mr Tim's bass DB, I've seen the templates. It certainly is a spectacular looking bass. How thin is the timber above the pickup DB ? must have been some serious nerves routing that close to the cap !

The Blue Meanie or whatever has unreal flame etc, but the price tag is plain silly IMO.
The Skervesen looks stunning, but the headstock seems incongruous with the body shape IMO.
The Mayones effort has a truly dazzling grain the redefines "popping" HTF is it achieved?
The DB sexy sassafras is the absolute epitome of elegance & clean lines IMO.
The DB violin bass is just superbly crafted and makes want get started on my "fiddle" guitar.

    That's my two shillings' worth . . . .
