    Hi AJ

This seems to be a solid body from the pictures. You need to get that layer of resin off the body as it doesnt like Wudtone or most other paints.....
Let us know how you go.

That layer of resin Gavin mentions looks a lot like what was under the paint on Jackson Dinky I stripped back (and have since done nothing with).

It took an incredible amount of sanding to get rid of it and it smelt really bad (and created an incredible amount of fine plasticy dust)....don't know what it is exactly, but I would strongly recommend some respiratory protection when you remove it.

Update on the cheapy Yammy... Did try to stain, but seemed to have problems with the top lamination on the back , so I stripped that off and it ended up way to thin around the control cavity. So I re-veneered the back with some "obecki 3 ply laminate ply (1.6mm thick)" that I had left over from my aero modeling days. Then went down the road of painting. I did a "holographic" style of finish and it goes from a golden brown through to a violet color from different angles.

well done AJ, that looks great, I'm interested to learn more about the holographic paint, the colour change looks excellent.
Are you going to sell this axe to fund the next Pit Bull kit ?

Have you strung it up yet and plugged it into an amp yet ?

Ty for the comments guys. I bought the paint as a sale item last one in stock.

http://www.hichem.com.au/hicheminfo/...EROSOL_KIT.PDF that is the stuff I used purchased from distinctive paints in hoppers crossing. I would like to sell this to fund the next kit.. so I do have high hopes. Am about to string it back up soon, then will recheck the intonation etc.
