Ok the exciting part 1st deep coat of aramanthine after couple more hours of final sanding, I'm very happy with the results and the colour, this is a different thicker wudtone and first coat you have to spread it quickly to avoid leaving blotched marks but a great challenge. Will post photos of the back turned out different to I thought, I put a base coat of cherry flamenco on and the purple barely soaked in, but think I'll still run with it

Oh and another thing I forgot to mention as far as I know I'm the first person on the Australian region to apply this colour !
So here's the contrast of the back, a coat of cherry flamenco was applied 5 days ago, I thought the colour would have been much darker, forum members shall I keep this colour on the back or sand back and start again ? I think with 2 more deep coats it will come up as a dark brown colour, the contrast between the purple and dark red look good to me with some purple streaks that soaked in the back.
Vote please, keep it or sand back to a purple back ?

I'm with DB here, all over aramanthine.

Sorry Wokka, the cherry's gotta go - that amaranthine is too nice to miss out on the full axe being the full purple. The top's looking hot though - DB looks like you'll be getting familiar with amaranthine over the coming weeks / months...

thanks for your input forum members, I made up my mind about 3 seconds after posting photos of the back that its got to be sanded back, I really thought the cherry basecoat would give the purple a darker colour but it did the opposite. It's got to go tonight will orbital sander it off then hand sand it to how it was.
Here's some pics I took this morning in natural light, should post photos of the back in ara tonight. Should work out well this colour needs 2 days curing time so I can alternate between top/sides and back applying next coats.
Oh and DB we've been spelling the colour wrong - its amaranthine so I'll call it ama for short from now !
