That's an idea! A local theatre group did a fundraising calendar recently. I shall make some enquiries...

Plus one on Gav's comments, and sentiment.

Personally, I didn't buy a kit with any expectation of entering a competition let alone winning one, but more so to have a bit of fun tinkering and if lucky enough, have something to pull off the rack of an evening and have a pick. The fact that I, and so many of this forum, got to do this with surprising results in aesthetics and sound, is a credit to Adam and the band of merry PBG gurus, but also the support this forum provides its members.

The simple fact that I now have a nice looking guitar in the rack and a few skills that I didn't have 3 months and $250 ago is enough for me. Throw in a bit of gratuitous admiration from the forum and my mates who have seen and played my first attempt and I'm hooked. Next kit on back order.

So..... Keep the GOTM simple and open to the forum. It will evolve with the forum and PBG.

    Soap box ends.

    Ditto to your thoughts glenno.

For me, the GOTM is a pleasant diversion when I feel the need to look at some eye candy, but it's not the main reason I keep logging into the PBG forum. Given that I'm not likely to build another guitar for a while, the format and rules of GOTM are of little consequence to me.

    All righty then.

After reading all the thoughts put forward by you guys, it is time to draw a line under this one.

Every one seems to have the same feeling that it is the build process and enjoyment gained from that process that is the over riding factor here.

GOTM is and always has been, an in house vehicle for PBG to encourage our builders to reach high and create an axe that they are proud to share with us all.

May I say this has brought Adam, Phil and myself much enjoyment and satisfaction. It is us who feel like the winners every time we see you guys post your "babies" on the forum.
To us, you are all winners.

So, with this in mind, I have to agree with Adam that given the way this has grown, we must make the decision to restrict GOTM to one Axe per person per month.
This is the simplest way of dealing with the overwhelming response and number of entries, after-all, we don't want to scare off our out of house Judges, do we?

Again, thank you to you all, it is you Guys and Gals that make Pit Bull what it is.

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

Yea, GOTM brings the forum together, it really shows who we are and how creative you are *cough* me *cough*
Even for me, it's still fun watching these 'babies' grow from a bunch of wood, plastic and metal inside a cardboard box into something that is awesome, even I'm having fun building the LP!!!!
And to agree again, everyone is a winner, they have found an awesome dealer, and even just building is, even if it has a generic headstock shape, or a solid colour, you are all winners in my eyes!!

Again, thank you to you all, it is you Guys and Gals that make Pit Bull what it is.
    Nuff said there DB!!
