Dumb Q ... in the circuit diagram , where do the wires from the reed s/w go onto the counter ? ie the white, blue and black ? and does the counter get power from the power supply?

    Hi AJ,
Not a dumb question at all. It does depend on what counter you buy. If you buy the one I have shown here, it will need to be a 24v unit and it will be powered by the same power supply as the motor. Effectively the reed switch does not have a positive or negative side, but will be connected via the black and the white wires. The unit I show already has a reset switch built in.

tk's Gavin, so I take it those wires go to terminals 1 and 2 of the jdm 11-5h.
I have received the counter and motor so far, just waiting on the cc board. That mob sent 2 x $5 vouchers for next purchases from then... cool hey. Also noted on Ebay was a 24v dc motor driver power supply also ( in a single unit)

Hey Gav, is there a chance you can show us close-ups of the wiring for each component on your winder???
And also, can you add in the reverse switch???

kelooe, the wiring for the reverse switch is already shown in the CC in an earlier post.. it is the the DPDT switch where power is routed to one side of the switch then connected in common and (reversed polarity on the other side)through on the opposite side of the switch, where the center position is the "out to the actual motor... if that help you any?

Here it is....simple DPDT switch wired up to reverse polarity and hence turn the motor into reverse!
