New to playing guitar (and never built a guitar before) - goal with this build is to create a bit of inspo with a guitar I've built to leave out and practice often enough to develop a bit of competence!
Originally I liked the idea of a Lucille style instrument but after seeing the flame veneer I thought an oxblood or similar sunburst might look good and be a bit of a test of finishing skills.
Kit has already arrived and all the missing bits I identified at the time of arrival have already been replaced by PBG which is great. With equal parts excitement and trepidation, the build begins.
Welcome to the forum. I see that you've already set up a build diary. Should be a fun one to watch. I have to agree with you, that there is something magical about playing an instrument that you made yourself.
