Exactly I've wanted 1 for years Frampton plays 1 Ace Frehley played 1 but it was done in a cherry burst with DiMarzio ,Super Distortion pick ups, its the best guitar I have out of 7 Les Pauls I haveee 2 are customs I've got a bit of a thing for them, I won't be messing with the black beauty, I've got a dsl20hr and the egnator Rebel 20 and both are loverly amps and the egnator you can switch to play either 6v6 or EL34's power tubes which is a great feature and they sound quite different

hey guys I've been trying some different paint but both the same colour here is something some of you guys maybe interested I've done candy apple Red with a 3 stage base, tint, clear and a 2 stage base colour and clear you guys who want do a candy apple Red guitar but don't have the equipment or the skills here a comparison that may help you out, 3 stage are the hardest paint you can do and you need gun skills to get an even look


this 1 is 3 stage at 6 coats both haven't been cleared bu you can use a rattle can acrylic laquar or a 2k on either their pretty close colour wise the 3 stage is a bit deeper but that will be closer once cleared so if you want a candy Red this is pretty easy to do even if you have never painted a guitar before

What is the maker of your 2K acrylic? I am guessing that goes on with a gun? (I have no idea how a 2K rattle can would even work...)

my 2k clears I've used are epoxy not acrylic I want a super tough clear to stop chips and scratches i used alot of different brands over the years I also use an epoxy primer when I want to seal the body especially if I use a water based wood filler but my go to is concept brand, clear and I try to use it on all my clears simply because it sticks to the body and when cured its tough I mix it a 3to1 with anything between 5-20% reducer depending which gun I use I have about 40 guns ranging from small mini guns I use on burst and they go up to super fast guns worth $1500, Compressor my normal 1 was a 3.5hp 17cf which I sold about a month ago as I wanted a silent compressor which I purchased just last week and I'm pretty happy with it, I've used some clears which are rubbish it easy to peal off especially over sanding sealer I've been doing guitars for about 11 years normally I do 50-80 a year I have my own stock that I keep for my self if I do 1 that cost me $500+ I'm more likey to sell on and either buy product like paints, thinner, tack rags, tape, and sandpaper. if I see some guitars around $100-$250 ill buy a couple and if I like them ill keep them if not ill do them and give them away to people who have kids more times than not they will be single parents I don't care if their mums or dads its the kids are the ones who get the guitar, I usually give them a gig bag, picks, and a stand, this Xmas I'm going to include the unemployed, id prefer to see them concentrate on music and not out stealing cars I wish more guys would do it its very rewarding. Before my accident I was an Auto repinisher so I know what I'm doing I started my trade as a furniture polisher and moved over to cars about 2 years in and finished my indentures, as you seen on my Facebook like cars and bikes and drag racing

Acrylic lacquer i buy from a whole sale paint supplier in Sydney who mainly do crash supplies I get it delivered used them because I like their products and delivered in a couple of day and been using them over 15 years, I don't have a brand I'd buy whats available is OK, my candies I buy from perfect pearl in the UK they aren't far out of London, I've used them for 5-6 years now and I love their products as not all pearls and candies are created equal, as for colour I buy by the 4lt is buy them from PPG paints here in Adelaide about 15min from my house is their factory, if I come across anything I feel is good value ill post it here, cutting compound I use Farecla G3 its about $50 a kg it works with 1k and 2k and apart from the clear I won't compamise on, all the products I use I know it works well on guitars

little update I've got the ES335 in colour the things been in my spare room for 3 years, still a lot too before clear I've got 4 that are waiting to be cleared ATM I got new PPS Cups that hold 800ml so I can mix up enough to do 4-5 bodies heres a picture I've put a lot of work into this bugger as you can see from the picture I posted prior

colour is candy tangerine 6 coats over silver base



Atm I'm currently working on 8 guitars
