They did that to Adam old owner of pitbull I have been doing a bit of reading on it, Gibson has new owner which is a corporation and they took Dean guitars for copyright infringement, apparently Dean have been building flying V type guitars since 1972 Dean lost the case but are appealing it to the apelet court in the USA, their is a law if they don't chase copyright infringement they can lose the right to it apparently it happened to fender who have lost the copyright that's why you see them everywhere, but gets back to Gibson haven't built a decent guitar for years, me I've got 3 LP and now 1 SG back in 2001 I purchased a Tea burst Gibson Les Paul standared it cost $4800 new, it was a beautiful looking thing I only had it for 3 weeks took it back and changed over for a AM Stratocaster and a AM telecaster in candy apple red they played better and that's when I fell in love with Telecasters/stratocasters so I got 2 new American fenders for the price of the gibsonOriginally Posted by fender3x
